Columbia Birth Center - Dads & Babies

BIRTH EDUCATION CLASSES

Educated and Empowered

Columbia Birth Center clients and their partners who have not previously delivered at CBC are required to attend a one-day childbirth preparation class by 36 weeks. Childbirth at Columbia Birth Center is different in many ways from hospital birth; this class is designed to ensure that parents understand those differences. This class includes information on breastfeeding basics as well as tips for those who have successfully breastfed older children.

In addition, we can recommend additional series that meet weekly, usually for five weeks, whose content reflects our philosophy.  There are also some excellent shorter courses to address specific topics, such as pain control.
