Safe, Personal, and Empowering Natural Birth
The leadership of Columbia Birth Center includes Cynthia Flynn, PhD, CNM, FACNM, MSN, ARNP, who attended nearly 1000 births in the Tri-Cities and ran Columbia Birth Center in Kennewick for 8 years.
In March, Columbia Birth Center proudly announced its accreditation, marking a significant milestone in maternity care. This accreditation, bestowed by the esteemed Commission for the Accreditation of Birth Centers (CABC), positions Columbia Birth Center as the sole accredited birth center in Eastern Washington and one of a select 117 nationwide.

Maternity Care in a Home-Like Setting
Our quiet, warm, and safe environment creates the background for an intimate experience. Each suite has a jacuzzi tub for the expectant parents to labor or birth in if they choose. Whether you want your whole family here for the experience or something more private, your birthing experience will be supported with love, kindness, and respect for your decisions.
At Columbia Birth Center, we begin seeing clients before the standard 10-12 weeks of pregnancy. As soon as a positive pregnancy test has been confirmed, we are here to set up your first visit. Starting at five weeks, we can begin appointments and focus on diet and exercise.
CBC cares about the safety of its clients. We follow the Richland School district www.rsd.org to determine whether to close or delay office visits when the weather is not safe.
At any time, if you are concerned about your safety, please call us.
If you are in labor, please call your midwife to develop a plan.
"We chose to have our baby at the Birth Center for a variety of reasons. The most important were the personal care Cynthia provides, the comfortable atmosphere, and relaxing facilities without unnecessary medical procedures. It has been a thoroughly enjoyable experience for the whole family!"
