Columbia Birth Center Receives National Accreditation
Richland, WA, March 2024 (PRESS RELEASE). Columbia Birth Center, nestled in the heart of Richland, proudly announces its accreditation, marking a significant milestone in maternity care. This accreditation, bestowed by the esteemed Commission for the Accreditation of Birth Centers (CABC), positions Columbia Birth Center as the sole accredited birth center in Eastern Washington and one of a select 117 nationwide.
Similar to the rigorous standards upheld by the Joint Commission for hospitals, CABC meticulously evaluated Columbia Birth Center’s services across various domains, including Philosophy and Scope of Services, Planning, Governance and Administration, Human Resources, Facility, Equipment and Supplies, the Health Record, and Quality Evaluation and Improvement. This accreditation underscores the center's unwavering commitment to providing unparalleled care that meets and exceeds national benchmarks.
Since its inaugural birth on May 5, 2022, Columbia Birth Center has welcomed over 130 newborns into the world, half of which were celebrated through the serene practice of water births. Situated in close proximity to Kadlec Regional Medical Center, the center ensures swift access to emergency care if required, prioritizing the safety and well-being of both mothers and babies.
