Andrea Mercier, Front Desk Coordinator
Andrea is a wife and mom to 4 children. She is from a small reservation town near the coast of Oregon. Growing up in a community like that, you witness what it is to be a tribe to your friends and family.
Andrea has always loved babies and admired the wonders of pregnancy from a very young age. At 15 years old, Andrea was able to support and coach someone very dear to her during labor. In that moment, she realized how magical birth can be!
After having her first daughter in a hospital setting, Andrea knew there had to be more options for birth and she found a freestanding birth center that completely changed the game for her. Having found that space helped her to find her voice and she had the most magical labor and delivery with her son, supported by midwives.
Andrea went on to have two more girls, so she has 3 daughters and 1 son. Andrea was a stay-at-home mom for 12 years and after her youngest daughter started to grow up and enter school, she knew she wanted to get back out into the world. She had some amazing experiences as she reentered the workplace but she always hoped to settle somewhere that was very near and dear to her.
Andrea is so thankful to have found Columbia Birth Center. In her spare time, she loves to hang out with her wife and babies (who are no longer babies), crochet , read, and run!
